Mixing plant (concrete / liquids)

Description

This function block automates the entire mixing and dosing process in production plants. It controls two inlet valves for various ingredients, a mixing device, and a discharge station – including integrated safety logic for emergency stop and stop buttons. The clearly structured SCL code runs directly in the Siemens TIA Portal and is ideal for chemical, pharmaceutical, or food technology applications.

Note: All modules are designed exclusively as a learning and optimization basis and are not approved for live operation. System modules, in particular, must be finally tested and commissioned by qualified personnel before productive use.

How it works

The safety test begins: If an emergency stop or stop button is triggered, the system stops immediately, all actuators are switched off and the process jumps back to the start step.

In automatic mode, a start button activates the dosing cycle. This is followed by:

1. Dosing of ingredient 1 via valve 1 until the set fill level is reached.
2. Dose ingredient 2 via valve 2 in the same way.
3. Mixing process: The mixer starts automatically for the specified time (controlled via IEC timer).
4. Emptying: The finished product is dispensed via the emptying station until a stop signal is given.

The control then automatically returns to its initial state – ready for the next cycle.
