Description
You're looking for a compact SCL function block that controls the fully automatic travel cycle of a lift or storage and retrieval machine to specified compartment positions – including reference travel, position calibration, door release, and timeout and safety monitoring. Directly deployable in the Siemens TIA Portal.

Note: All modules are designed exclusively as a learning and optimization basis and are not approved for live operation. System modules, in particular, must be finally tested and commissioned by qualified personnel before productive use.

How it works

  1. Start in automatic mode; emergency stop and stop signals are constantly monitored
  2. Reference run: Lift moves in lowering direction to the reference sensor; actual compartment counter is set to "1"
  3. Lifting motor controls the lift to the target compartment until the target position is reached
  4. Door release: Only when the door contact is locked; an open door timeout of 10 seconds triggers an error
  5. After the door has been closed correctly, the release signal is activated for 5 seconds
  6. Reset cycle and ready for the next run

Technical details
• Integer variable for step chain control; IN/OUT signals for up/down motor and door release
• Two TON timers: one for the open door timeout, one for the door release duration
• Emergency stop and stop buttons with the highest priority immediately switch off all motors and reset flags
• Reset button clears alarm flag without restarting the cycle
