Description
You are looking for an SCL function block that controls an automatic mail sorting system with switch selection based on recognized codes. Safety functions immediately prevent all conveyor and switch movements in the event of an emergency stop or stop button. The sequence control runs in clearly defined steps and detects error conditions, triggers an alarm, and waits for acknowledgment.

Note: All modules are designed exclusively as a learning and optimization basis and are not approved for live operation. System modules, in particular, must be finally tested and commissioned by qualified personnel before productive use.

How it works

  1. Idle mode: Conveyor belt stops until start button is triggered
  2. PostRecognized: Belt running, control switches to code analysis
  3. Criterion A fulfilled: Activate switch A
  4. Criterion B fulfilled: Activate switch B
  5. No criterion: Activate residual line
  6. No code detected: Belt stops, error flag and alarm set until operator acknowledges
  7. After selection or confirmation: All switches off, ready for next mail item

Technical details
• Emergency stop and stop buttons check with priority and set all outputs to FALSE and alarm and error flags to TRUE
• Edge detection on the start button ensures a clean pulse to activate the belt
• State-based sequence control with integer step variables for detection, selection and reset phases
• Inputs: PostRecognized, CodeRecognized, CriterionA, CriterionB, ErrorAcknowledge
• Outputs: Conveyor Belt, Switch A, Switch B, Switch Rest, Status Active – all as clear TRUE/FALSE signals
