Description
Leak detection for closed systems – ideal for training, commissioning, optimization, and system planning. Choose between two versions:
- Variant A Basic – compact leak detection (slim, quick to integrate)
- Variant B Industry 4.0 – with event history (FIFO), diagnostic structure, error code, maintenance recommendation and reset
Note: All modules are designed as a learning and optimization tool and are not approved for live operation. They must be reviewed by qualified personnel before productive use.
Variants at a glance
Variant A – Basic
- Compares
Durchfluss
withSchwelle
and checks valve states. - Sets leakage to TRUE when flow > threshold and all valves are closed.
- Clear status text for “leakage”, “plausible flow” or “normal state”.
- Minimal resource requirements, quick integration into existing projects.
Variant B – Industry 4.0 (with history & diagnosis)
- FIFO history of recent events (timestamp, flow, valve states).
-
Diagnostic structure with fields for
LeckageErkannt
,Zeitstempel
,Durchfluss
,Schwelle
,VentileZustand
,Fehlercode
andStatusText
. - Leakage counter & maintenance logic: maintenance is recommended from a defined frequency (e.g. “check lines and seals”).
-
Manual reset of the meter via
LeckageReset
. - Ideal for HMI/SCADA : clearly structured data points, easy to visualize.
How it works
Valve testing
Up to 10 valves are checked in a loop. If no valve is open, "All valves are closed."
Leakage detection
If Durchfluss > Schwelle
AND all valves are closed, a leak is signaled.
-
Variant A: Sets
Leckage
andStatusText
. - Variant B: Additionally set diagnosis , push history , log new event , increase counter .
No leak / plausible flow
- No leak: flow ≤ threshold ⇒ normal condition.
- Plausible: Flow > threshold, but at least one valve open ⇒ no leak, plausible operation.
Maintenance & Reset (Variant B)
- From a configurable frequency (e.g. ≥ 5 events) MaintenanceRecommended is set.
-
LeckageReset
resets the counter and removes the maintenance recommendation.

HMI/SCADA notes (variant B)
- Diagnostic tile: Leakage Detected, Error Code, Status Text, Timestamp.
- Trend/Log: Display of the FIFO history (time/flow/valve pattern).
- Maintenance: Warning symbol for MaintenanceRecommended , text from RecommendedAction .
-
Operation: Reset button for
LeckageReset

Support
I am happy to support you with:
- Adjustment of thresholds, number of valves and history depth
- Extension with additional sensors/feedback (e.g. pressure, temperature)
- HMI visualization, diagnostic dashboards, alarming & maintenance concepts
- Integration into existing TIA projects (SCL/DB/UDT structure)
