Description
The Roller Shutter Control Module (FB) controls a roller shutter either manually via a push button or automatically via sunrise/sunset and brightness sensors. Interlocking mechanisms, a runtime timer, and automatic switching ensure safe and convenient operation. The module is designed for LOGO! 8.3/8.4.
Note: Not for safety purposes. For comfort functions and building technology only.
Electrical installation work may only be carried out by qualified electricians. .
How it works
1) Operating mode switching
-
Automatic switch: Input
I3determines whether manual or automatic operation is active. -
Manual operation: Buttons
I1(UP) andI2(DOWN) control the roller shutter directly via timersB006/B007(30 s each). - Automatic operation: Signals from the sunrise/sunset block and brightness sensor automatically determine the direction of travel.
- When switching from manual to automatic mode, the manual command is reset to avoid double trips.
2) Astronomical time control
- LOGO! block
B021/B022calculates sunrise and sunset based on the set location. - Exit A: Sunrise → Roller shutter opens (UP).
- Exit B: Sunset → Roller shutter closes (AB).
- The signals are only evaluated if
I3 = 1(automatic operation active).
3) Brightness sensor
-
Analog input:
AI1measures 0–10 V (e.g., 0–1000 lux). -
Scaling: via analog block
B017withGain = 100,Offset = 0. -
Threshold values:
On = 400Lux (bright),Off = 300Lux (dark). - In darkness, the closing command (CLOSED) is automatically triggered; in light, the opening command (OPEN) is triggered.
4) Roller shutter OPEN
-
I1→ Trigger for TimerB006(30 s ON time). - Automatic signal “sunrise” or “bright” → additional trigger.
-
Interlock:
Q1active ⇒Q2locked. - Optional: Limit switch
I5for switching off when the end position is up.
5) Roller shutter AB
-
I2→ Trigger for TimerB007(30 s AB time). - Automatic signal “sunset” or “dark” → additional trigger.
-
Interlock:
Q2active ⇒Q1locked. - Optional: Limit switch
I6for switching off when the end position is down.
6) Security & Priorities
- Priority: Manual commands > Automatic > Safety functions.
-
Wind/rain alarm: Input
I4forces "OPEN" and blocks "OFF". - Both directions of travel are electrically locked (no synchronization).
